Vintage wood here. A rusty steel band covering a edge protector from one of the largest wood distributors in California from 1931-early 2000’s. Penberthy Lumber was a behemoth in the lumber industry from the mid-late 20th century. I believe this particular bundle arrived into the Port of Los Angeles from Indonesia in the 1970’s. One brittle worn out tag shows it was last transferred in 2003 before coming into our warehouse a few weeks ago. If this wood could talk!
We received a partial truckload of thin-sawn American Black Walnut recently. The boards were mostly 7-19” wide. All of them were either live-sawn or quartersawn. There’s some beautiful figure in some of the boards. This one is 12” wide x 10’ long, full figured.
